If you’ve somehow found yourself on the pages of my virtual mind, I humbly welcome you with love, drishti  and a side of my Iyer sarcasm. I’m Prarthana Nandini Venunathan. A long name, hence known to some as Metal Maami, a name that  I was honoured with, quite aptly over a dinner of masala dosa and filter kaapi in Mylapore, Chennai talking about my love for death metal and dogs. It has since become an important part of my existence, for it brings to light the two realms in my world. 

From the love for my traditional Brahmin Iyer upbringing and all that comes with being part of this vibrant and weird South Indian community to my love for the genre of metal and all that it represents, this is the meeting point of the two and I am truly glad to finally bring it to life. This is a place for you just as much as it is for me; one for the spiritually-inclined, the musically-obsessed and the deeply curious, from a heart that thrives on wandering distant lands and sharing it with you. 

You will find, well, many things on this little online corner of mine, but I’ll leave that for you to discover. No but really, thank you for being here, a place I have worked over many moons  to bring to life and I hope to share the world through my eyes. So again, I welcome you with love, and the blessings of those, the divine and the human,  that have led me to you, my readers.
